Aki Sasamoto

Aki Sasamoto graduated with an MFA from Columbia University in 2007, and currently lives and works in New York. She is a founding member of Culture Push, a group of artists who organize symposia, performances, and workshops. Her work in performance, sculpture, and dance focuses on everyday gestures. Her performance remembering/modifying/developing, a musical belief-making system, was included in the Yokohama Triennial 2008. Her performance piece feedback  involved Sasamoto and a participant eating pasta while listening to the radio and conversing with one another in the gallery space.
