Dicke’s work amalgamates, manipulates and modifies everyday imagery and objects. Through it, she forces viewers to question the validity of the whole of visual culture. Elements are stripped back with sandpaper, caked in makeup, blotted with wine, stabbed at with nails and surgically cut open. Dicke's pieces take the established and deconstruct it, obscuring to reveal alternate and perhaps greater meanings.
Other recent solo exhibitions include: Collecting Alibis, Anat Ebgi, Los Angeles, GEM Museum of Contemporary Art, The Hague, NL; Castrum Peregrini, Amsterdam, NL; and Hiromi Yoshii Gallery, Tokyo, JP.
