Libby Schoettle’s work documents the journeys of her alter ego, PhoebeNewYork. The fictional character is at times autobiographical, reflecting Schoettle’s own emotions and perceptions. Phoebe comes to life in collages created with found objects including vintage clothes, book covers, and photos. She is also the subject of line drawings and photographs. Recently, Phoebe has made her way onto the streets of New York, San Francisco, and Seattle. PheobeNewYork is adored by her Instagram followers for her dark and funny explorations into love and relationships.


Libby Schoettle was born in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. She studied fashion at Philadelphia University before graduating from Hunter College with a degree in film production. She is currently working on her first memoir-based novel revealing her life as an artist and is the subject of an upcoming documentary by Canobie Films. Libby lives and works in New York City.
