Saul Steinberg

Easily counted as one of the most iconic illustrators of this century, the Romanian American artist Saul Steinberg gave definition to postwar graphic style with his fluid, lyrical lines and incomparable wit. His masterful sense of graphic concission has rendered even his most topical works timeless. While renowned for his covers and drawings that appeared in The New Yorker for nearly six decades, Steinberg was just as profilic in painting, collage, and sculpture. His works have been collected in-depth by the Whitney Museum of Art, the National Gallery, the MoMA, the Centre Pompidou, and the Arts Institute of Chicago to name a small few and recieve frequent posthumous solo exhibitions.
