Laurie Anderson

One of today's premiere performance artists, Laurie Anderson is known for her convergence of multimedia and the visual arts. In 2002, she was appointed the first artist-in-residence of NASA. From this experience she developed a solo performance The End of The Moon, an absorbing monologue that meditated on the imponderables that inhabit space, both near and far.

Recognized for her use of technology in the arts, she has collaborated with Interval Research Corporation in the exploration of new creative tools, such as the Talking Stick. She is also known for creating the introductory sequence for PBS's Art21. Anderson's visual work has been exhibited in major institutions across the United States and throughout Europe.
