About The Work
Multifaceted and constantly evolving, Dieter Roth radically expanded the definitions of various forms, combining and transforming each process to new ends. Often incorporating contradictory materials into his pieces—chocolate, sausage casings, and dough among them—Roth was not concerned with the permanence of his works, but rather how they came to be. In this silkscreen print, Doppelform (Double Form) the artist layers a series of colors in an abstract form, and then reverses the series in a rectangular base.
