About The Work
"The No-No Dance is an image of two women statues coming out of a garden hedge. The figures are frozen in a choreographed gesture of refusal. I imagine the two women as friends and guardians, protecting a private space beyond the hedgerow.” The lithograph The No-No Dance has been produced in collaboration with Galerie PACT. Emily Ludwig Shaffer’s solo exhibition ‘’Wall-To-Wall’’ is currently on view at the gallery in Paris until December 16th, 2020. The lithograph will be released on Wednesday, December 16th, at 12 pm EST, marking the exhibition's closing. Created in 2016 in Paris, PACT is the acronym from the initials of its owners: Pierre-Arnaud (Doucède) and Charlotte Trivini. Focus on emerging artists with no or little visibility in France -whether or not they are recognized abroad, PACT puts the accent on disruptive practices. The gallery represents Rose Barberat, Amy Brener, Danny Ferrell, Dorian Gaudin, Ethan Greenbaum, Sarah Meyohas, Emily Ludwig Shaffer, Tyler Thacker.
