"Sur le trottoir du Savoir" (Pavement of Knowledge) is an exhibition by Congolese photographer Baudouin Mouanda (b. 1981, Ouesso, Congo Brazza). It shows the students who take the main thoroughfares of Brazzaville by storm at sundown, seeking refuge in what they call "the great library under the stars". They revise their history and language lessons by streetlight on the edges of roundabouts, parks or at the airport, in order to make up for the frequent power cuts.

In response to Mouanda's work, artist Mamadou Cissé created Congo River, translating his vision of Brazzaville and Kinshasa, reunited by four bridges and full of solar panels, power station, nuclear plant. "Forward ho! Africa!" says the visionnary artist.
