    About The Work

Using materials such as skateboard wheels and wetsuit fabric, much of Paul Edmunds's work relates to his early interest in surf and skate culture. Roll, a construction made from thirty-three orange skateboard wheels cut into hexagons, is one such ode to that world. Rendered useless due to their altered physical shape, the wheels can no longer roll, but they can now be stacked or arranged edge-to-edge. Vertically pieced together in a small tessellated wall, anchored by cable ties, the stationary wheels form an abstract sculptural object.
