About The Artist
Don Cooper’s practice is heavily informed by his travels to Central and South America, Southeast Asia, India, Italy, and China. A recent solo exhibition featured watercolors with pigments derived from precious stones, such as jade, turquoise, and lapis lazuli and continued his inclination for Zen-inflected, meditative compositions. His prints and paintings are sublimely transcendent, providing a perfect means of pause from the routine of harried contemporary life.
A recipient of numerous grants and awards, including the MOCAGA Working Artist Grant and Fulbright Artist Fellowship, Cooper has taught at the Atlanta College of Art.
