Gerardo Hacer

Formerly a graffiti artist, Gerardo Hacer immersed himself in the culture and creativity of street art. He then studied welding at the LA Trade Tech College, and his welding skills, combined with his graffiti experience, allowed him to perfect his signature art form: metal origami sculptures. Hacer claims that the original inspiration for his art evolved from origami cranes and Alexander Calder's sculpture

The Four Arches

in Los Angeles. All of his work aims to elicit a response related to the viewer's early formative childhood years, as Hacer believes that this interaction with the past allows for new beginnings.
