Jason Meadows

The sculptural work of Jason Meadows draws on various sources, inspirations and icons, culled from art history, literature and popular culture. Engaging the surrounding space with assemblage structures that regularly incorporate wood, metal and found objects, Meadows challenges traditional notions of space, form and narrative. Combining modernist aesthetics with highly technical construction, his work often features systems and ready-mades such as shelving units and geometric structures.

Since the mid-1990s Meadows’ sculptures have been exhibited worldwide, including the Tate Modern, London, UCLA Hammer Museum, Los Angeles, Astrup Fearnley Museum of Modern Art, Oslo, de Appel Arts Centre, Amsterdam, and the CCA Wattis Institute, San Francisco, among others. His work was also featured in the group exhibitions at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago, Nasher Sculpture Center, Dallas, TX, Orange County Museum of Art, Newport Beach, CA and Nasher Museum of Art at Duke University, Durham, NC.
