Galleri Nicolai Wallner Copenhagen, Denmark

When Galleri Nicolai Wallner opened in Denmark in 1993, it began with a selection of artists that includes the majority of its current program, allowing the gallery the opportunity to explore the ideals of what it means to represent a specific generation of artists over a long period of time. The gallery works with a diverse group of artists all working in different media who are defined as a group not so much by a shared aesthetic, but by a common wish to express ideas, tell stories, and make a mark on an otherwise fluctuating world.

Galleri Nicolai Wallner seeks to personally collaborate with each of its artists, helping with production and acting as a connection to international galleries and museums, while also managing their written and visual archives. In addition to the artists the gallery represents, Galleri Nicolai Wallner has often shown works by older, more established artists in an effort to contextualize its program and to introduce some of the most seminal artists of the latter half of the 20th century to the Danish public.
