Jessica Silverman Gallery was founded in 2008. The gallery is known for discovering emergent artists whatever their age and bringing them to an international audience. It has a strong concept-driven roster that embraces all artistic media.
Works by the gallery’s artists have been acquired by museums such as the Tate (London), Centre Pompidou (Paris), Reina Sofia (Madrid), MoMA (New York), Whitney Museum of American Art, MCA Chicago, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Hammer Museum (UCLA), SF MOMA, Dallas Museum of Art, National Gallery of Canada and the Art Gallery of Ontario. The gallery has participated in many art fairs, including Art Basel (Switzerland), Art Basel Miami Beach, FIAC (Paris), Frieze (London & New York), Expo Chicago, Dallas Contemporary and FOG Design + Art.
Jessica Silverman founded the gallery upon completing her MFA in Curatorial Practice at the California College of the Arts. She sits on the San Francisco Arts Commission and the committees for EXPO Chicago and FOG Design + Art. Silverman also curates “fused space,” a gallery hosted by the renowned industrial designer Yves Behar in San Francisco’s Potrero Hill. Through creating three exhibitions a year, Behar and Silverman are working together to foster a dialogue between art and design.
