About Winkleman Gallery
Founded in Chelsea in March 2006, Winkleman Gallery evolved out of Plus Ultra Gallery, which was located in the Wiliamsburg district of Brooklyn. The gallery represents an international selection of emerging and mid-career artists, working in a wide range of media and focusing mostly on socially and politically engaged conceptual practices.
Gallery artists live and work in Europe, Central Asia, and the United States and have exhibited in some of the world's most important venues, including the Venice Biennale, the Vienna Kunsthalle, The Art Institute in Chicago, the Getty Center in Los Angeles, the Singapore Biennale, the Moscow Biennial, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Museum of Modern Art, and the Sharjah Biennial. The gallery has participated in art fairs such as ARCO, Art Chicago, Pulse, NADA, Moving Image, Independent, VIP, and The Armory Show.
