The Brazilian photographer Pedro Motta combines landscape and architecture, capturing man-made structures as they decay or otherwise give way to more organic elements. Tree trunks and branches pass through openings in walls, or prop up ramshackle buildings; cubes of earth weigh down large balloons. Motta has exhibited at the Neue Berliner Kunstverein in Berlin, the Centro de Arte Helio Oiticica in Rio de Janeiro, and the Centro Cultural Sao Paulo CSP, and has participated in such international festivals as the 2nd Bucharest Biennale and the 5th International Biennial of Photography in Liège.Read Less
