Sybren Renema

Sybren Renema is a Glasgow-based artist, writer, and musician. Built upon methodical research and extensive fieldwork, his multimedia compositions engage playfully and critically with literary and historical sources. Some of his work has interrogated regimes of knowledge production and the narrative content of objects in the overlapping fields of travel writing, poetry, empire, exploration, and music.

Renema's work has been widely exhibited at the Project Room, Glasgow, Scotland, Somerset House, London, England, and Künstlerhaus Dortmund, Germany.
