About The Artist

Drawing inspiration from the fluid, ephemeral nature of light, Sylvia Hommert creates works through various media, from aquatint to wood, beeswax to metal. Layering translucent and transparent elements, Hommert is interested in texture inasmuch as it creates additional surface area for illumination. Cloaked in light and shadow, her works possess an ethereal, graceful quality that enchants the viewer.
