Fragments 6 & 7 were created as limited edition prints to benefit the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles.
Fragment 6 and Fragment 7 are part of a series of work that highlight the artist’s ongoing investigation of translation and identity. Through a combination of conceptual and intuitive operations, Grant transforms text into patterns of color and shape— creating word-scapes or maps of language. MOCA presented these works in 2007 as part of MOCA Focus, a series of solo exhibitions of emerging artists based in Southern California.
