Keltie Ferris

Keltie Ferris earned her MFA from Yale School of Art and currently lives in Brooklyn. Her layered paintings merge gestural abstraction with spray-painted marks resembling graffiti or airbrushed T-shirts. In her first solo exhibition, “boy genius” (2007), surfaces were built up and peeled away. Through this process Ferris developed a motif of masks to engage themes of identity while interrogating traditions of painting.
