About The Work
Elyce Abrams is an abstract painter based in Philadelphia. Her work, that stems from moments that occur in her everyday life, shifted dramatically after the birth of her son. She found that her concerns, as well as her process, vastly changed at this time, finding new meaning in color, composition, and movement.
Abrams received her MFA in 2004 from the University of the Arts and her BFA from Tufts University/School of the Museum of Fine Arts. Recent work has been included in solo and group shows: Something New Everyday, NoBA Projectspace, Bala Cynwyd, PA; The Narrative Panorama, Blank Space Gallery, NYC; The Miniature Show, Abend Gallery, Denver, CO; CONTEXT Art Fair during Art Basel, with Blank Space Gallery, Miami, FL; Duo Exhibit, Blank Space Gallery, NYC; Constructs: Rowan University Studio Faculty Exhibit, Rowan University, Glassboro, NJ; Blank Space Pop-Up Gallery, Seoul, Korea; Long Distance, Bridgette Mayer Gallery, Philadelphia, PA; (In)finite Place, Rodeph Shalom, Philadelphia Museum of Jewish Art; Glow, Bridgette Mayer Gallery, Philadelphia, PA.
