    About The Work

Like the majority of Garie Waltzer’s photographs, Park Coimbra is a transportive, timeless image. Waltzer travels extensively, and she captured this moment of peace and urban living while visiting the Portugese city of Coimbra (it belongs to an edition of 40). More than a purely documentary picture, Park Coimbra displays special attention to perspective: shot from a low-flying bird’s-eye view, the leaves of the canopy are enlivened, as they prominently encompass the upper half of the composition.
