    About The Work

This untitled etching with aquatint (an edition of 40) by Mai-Thu Perret is a tribute to German Dadaist Hannah Höch, who was one of few women artists involved in the movement. Inspired by Perret's ongoing novel The Crystal Frontier, which is about a group of women who set up a commune in the deserts of New Mexico, the artist's powerful imagery evokes tribal iconography, the American Southwest, and feminist symbolism.
