    About The Work

Characterized by a nonhierarchical approach to materials, artist Morgane Tschiember creates unexpected forms using traditional sculptural techniques and materials. In Bubble #4, a strange and elegant form looks unfamiliar, yet is made of only glass and wood. Placing hot glass, before it had cooled and hardened, onto wood, the artist allowed the two materials to interact; the wood, supporting the glass became singed from its heat, while the glass succomed to the density of the wood, drapping over its edges before solidifying.
