Olivia Erlanger's print, Slow Violence, utilizes an image of a sculpture from her 2016 exhibition 'Dripping Tap' at Mathew NYC. Erlanger's work considers the movement and flow of information and economy as an ecological force. Set on a deep red background Erlanger's bold print is a complementary form of circulation of her work in the Dripping Tap exhibition. Within the print, as in the exhibition, two large snake tongues hang twisting away from one another, they appear to be licking the space or tasting the air. Erlanger see these tongues acting as agents of an impending destruction.
