Pablo Bronstein’s witty and erudite drawings, etchings, performances, sculptures and public art works reimagine the aesthetics and social theatre of pre-20th century architecture and design for our own day. This etching’s motif is an overflowing sauce tureen in the shape of Chatsworth, considered the earliest Baroque house in England. The tureen is the artist’s invention, but it harks back to The Grand Tour, when elaborate tableware in form of great buildings became a fashionable souvenir.
