About The Work
"This photograph was taken on a beach called Southerndown in South Wales (UK), in the fall of 2008. I was photographing the cliffs, when, suddenly, I saw a line of students from UWC Atlantic College walk down towards the water carrying their surfboards. When I was a student at Atlantic College in the seventies, I was the captain of the Beach Rescue Team, and Southerndown beach is where we learned how to become lifeguards. It was one of the most memorable times of my life..." —Priscilla Rattazzi
