About The Work
Ron Arad is an Israeli designer living and working in the UK. Arad’s constant experimentation with the possibilities of materials combined with his radical re-conception of the form and structure of objects and spaces has put him at the forefront of contemporary design and architecture.
Arad's Ringoletto vase for Rosenthal is a spiral of porcelain fitted with a corresponding coil of steel that twists to extend the height of the vase to 11 inches. This unusual orange/red version – they were produced and sold in black, white, and silver – was apparently custom glazed for French corporation EMTEC Magnetics.
