    About The Work

    A red ibis perches on a red armchair in this contemporary surrealist painting by New York artist, Thomas Broadbent. The long legs of this water bird complement the design of the chair depicted in this watercolor painting. The brilliant scarlet color of the bird fuses with the bright red of the chair. Painting is a naturalist style with great detail, Thomas Broadbent's unique pairing of animals in situ with a designer's sensibility gives this painting a contemporary surrealist quality.
