    About The Work

This nearly five-foot-tall lighter comes from one of Thomas Hirschhorn's encompassing city art spaces, the Musée Précaire Albinet, for which he set up a makeshift museum outside Paris dedicated to the work of eight artists: Marcel DuchampPiet MondrianKasimir MalevichAndy WarholSalvador DalíLe CorbusierJoseph Beuys, and Fernand Léger. For this piece from the installation, the artist has created a shrine to the artists in the form of an oversize lighter wrapped in tinfoil.
