    About The Work

Known by his alter ego project, PPPP, Peruvian artist Alberto Casari makes works that reject notions of authorship and artistic genius. In this untitled work, the artist has made an abstract painting using wood as a substrate instead of canvas, and raw canvas as a collage material. Reminiscent of color filed painting of the 1950s and 60s, this work reinforces some traditional values in abstract painting, while simultaneously rejecting certain expectations regarding materiality and substrates.
