About The Work
In this ten-color lithograph made exclusively for the ICA, Melgaard showcases motifs from "A House to Die In," his exhibition at the museum in 2012. Melgaard's signature madcap, taboo-breaking images are put on full display: an unclothed Pink Panther luxuriates next to the abstracted shape of a screaming face, all fitting together in a tightly packed system. Melgaard produced the work in collaboration with master printmaker Maurice Sanchez, in a show of at turns chaotic and sly creative force.
