    About The Work

    In this unique electrostatic print framed in hot pink, Colby Bird meditates on the artist’s boundaries between work and leisure. The piece is from a series entitled Leisure, all of which feature a different color painted frame, based on the colors in the Kodak Color Control Patch, a guide used by photographers for tonal accuracy. The aesthetic of the intentionally murky still life comes across like the phenomenon of one’s eyes adjusting to a dark room—ultimately evoking a sense of both warmth and melancholy.
