About The Work

This large scale oil painting by Mark Masyga employs a linear abstract composition. Masyga's masterful knowledge and background in color field painting shows a heightened sense and use of color in this painting. His sensitive use of a subdued orange ground is activated by yellow and blue violet transparent oil glazes, while his opaque linework brings a depth and drama to this stunning painting. At seven feet in length, this is an impressive statement piece by the New York painter, Mark Masyga. (signed on reverse)
