    About The Work

Mauro Giaconi’s drawings begin as representational sketches of architecture seemingly post-detonation. Abstracted through the erasure and smudging of graphite, his murals and works on paper emphasize the instability of structures freed from gravity. This unique work, a series of three graphite drawings on paper, explores variations on themes important to the artist–fragility and resistance, light and shadow, the practical and the dysfunctional.
