About The Work
In this suite of four photogravures, Vik Muniz explores the human emotions of happiness, sadness, anger, and pensiveness on individual faces molded from one piece of clay. In his characteristically referrential practice, Muniz pays homage to the caricatures of the 19th century artist Honoré Daumier.
