    About The Work

Adapted from a design for the December 1958 cover of Arts & Architecture magazine with photograph by Gerald Ratto and cover design by John Follis, this print reveals Ratto's interest in industrial aesthetics and precise composition.

Ratto's photograph for this cover featured the architectural model of the small Redwood Exhibition Pavilion by Marquis & Stoller for the AIA at the San Francisco Art Festival. The layout was provided by designer John Follis, who added the circular blue accent to the lustrous silver-grays of the image in perfect harmony.
