Ella Kruglyanskaya’s exuberant paintings are full of very colourful women. Predominantly working in oil on canvas and egg tempera on wood panels, there is strong graphic sensibility. Krugluanskaya’s women are cartoon-like, appearing flatly within the picture plane and parodying a particular representation of female sexuality and social interaction. Kruglyanskaya has had solo exhibitions at Studio Voltaire in London (2014), Kendall Koppe in Glasgow (2013), Gavin Brown’s Enterprise in New York (2012), Salon 94 in New York (2011), and White Columns in New York (2010).
