    About The Work

In her exploration of mythology and value attribution, Fritzia Irizar has created several artworks concerning Bacubirito, the fifth largest metalic meteorite in the world which was discovered in 1863 in the Sinaloa mountains. Subsequently installed at the Science Center of Sinaloa, this work is a photograph of the concrete base that was built to hold the meteorite from 1959 to 1992. It shows the shape of the meteorite as if it was a cast.
