    About The Work

The Albino in the moonlight garden is indicative of Hernan Bas’s visual investigation of themes relating to dandyism, romanticism, and literature. The eponymous man is illustrated with care and favor as he waits alone at night in a park, not unlike the countless characters who brought tales of cruising to life in the literary canon. Regarding the composition, the bright white aura of the young man, garden flowers, and moon stands in striking and dramatic contrast to the dark night that comprises the background.
