The Porthole Waves (Svalbard) series was shot while on residency with the Arctic Circle Program, Summer Solstice 2014. Albury was living on a sailboat over the summer with other artists, writers and scientists, exploring glaciers and unmanned islands. The ship sailed the West coast of Svalbard, less that 10 degrees south of the North Pole, during the midnight sun of summer. Porthole Waves (Svalbard) was shot through a 13" porthole was the only source of light in the cabin.
