    About The Work

Drawing inspiration from dreams, popular television, and the absurdities in day-to-day life, Mark Delong's work combines humor with a raw and spontaneous aesthetic. His ceramic work uses a primitive visual language to explore sculptural realizations of childlike animations. Here, he applies his self-taught style to a ceramic trophy for Fergie Jenkins, a 1992 inductee of the National Baseball Hall of Fame and "one of the best pitchers in baseball, ever,” according to Cubs manager Leo Durocher.
