About The Work

"Jimmy Paulette on David’s Bike, N.Y.C” is one of Goldin's most iconic images that unites some of the prime attributes from her oeuvre. This photo is one of three famous images taken during the Gay Pride Parade in New York City; including "Misty and Jimmy Paulette in a Taxi" and "Jimmy Paulette." As for "Jimmy Paulette", she is one of Goldin's muses from the 90's, appearing in a large number of celebrated published images from the era. It is one of Goldin's most carefree, direct and memorable portraits. A fantastic example of her practice.
