Oscar Murillo Gallery Art
Carlos/Ishikawa Gallery, London
Oscar Murillo’s practice is equal parts painting and performance. Where painting is concerned, his process is one of working through materials and ideas, as there is no fixed point of resolution in mind. Murillo works on his paintings in a piecemeal fashion, painting on various fabric panels at the same time that will come together at a later date. In effect, his studio becomes a place of assembly, reflecting his interest in live performance, displacement, travel, and mobility—at once formal and fun. His work has been exhibited at Zach Feuer and Nicole Klagsbrun Gallery in New York; the Serpentine Gallery in London; the Brand New Gallery in Milan, Italy; and Isabella Bortolozzi Gallery in Berlin.
