    About The Work

This is a unique, hand signed original drawing with excellent provenance; it depicts a naked male, done in red ink, on the title page of the rare 1969 monograph "Calder" by Peter Bellow, published by Ediciones Poligrafa in Spain, with text in Spanish, English, French and German. The drawing was done for collector and art historian Jacob Bal Teshuva and his wife Aviva. Calder playfully inscribes the book to them in Spanish - even though they are American.  Calder dates the drawing "22 October 1969."
