Founded in 1966, Gemini G.E.L. is a publisher of limited edition prints and multiples based in Los Angeles, California. The workshop and gallery are located at 8365 Melrose Avenue in West Hollywood. Gemini has collaborated with more than 70 artists, including Robert Rauschenberg, Ellsworth Kelly, Roy Lichtenstein, Jasper Johns, John Baldessari, Richard Serra, as well as Ed Ruscha, Vija Celmins, Frank Gehry, Bruce Nauman, and many others. More recently, Gemini has created editions with Sophie Calle, Julie Mehretu, Analia Saban, Richard Tuttle, Ann Hamilton, and Tacita Dean. In 1981, the National Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C., established the Gemini G.E.L. Archive, which functions as a study center for scholars and collectors, and contains a complete history of the workshop.
