    About The Work

Throughout his career, Richard Serra has made drawings and prints that investigate similar principles as his towering minimalist sculptures. This etching, for example, is from a series of works on paper that convey industrial texture and monumentality. Created by evenly applying thick, black ink to deeply etched copper plates, the large rectangle of black topped by a thin strip of white communicates weight and grand scale.
